Possible Futures
Applications
One foundation. Many characters and worlds.
OneiraMind™ is being developed today with a single pilot character in Second Life. The same foundation for identity, memory, relationships, and behavior is designed to support many kinds of characters and worlds.
This page describes those possibilities. Each one is labelled with its status, so it is clear what is being tested now and what is still an idea.
Where Things Stand
One Pilot, Many Possibilities
Maisie LoveCraft is OneiraMind's experimental pilot: a six-year-old Second Life character whose development is where these ideas are explored and tested first.
The applications below are not available products. They describe directions the architecture is designed to allow, and they would build on what the pilot teaches.
Seven Application Areas
Where OneiraMind Could Go
- Status: Conceptual
Virtual People & NPCs
Non-player characters that recognize returning visitors, recall appropriate details, and keep a consistent personality instead of repeating the same fixed lines.
For example
- Residents of a roleplay town or community
- Guides and greeters
- Background characters with their own routines
With care: People should know they are talking with an AI-driven character.
- Status: Conceptual
Family & Roleplay Characters
Characters with owner-defined relationships, such as children, siblings, and relatives, who remember shared history and stay true to who their family is.
For example
- Children and relatives in roleplay families
- Relationships set and verified by the owner
- Long-running household storylines
With care: Visitors cannot rewrite a character’s family, and child characters need age-appropriate safeguards.
- Status: Conceptual
Interactive Animals & Companions
Creatures that recognize their caretakers and respond in character through behavior and sound, rather than human-style speech.
For example
- Pets and farm animals
- Companion creatures
- Wildlife that reacts to visitors
With care: Expression is designed behavior; it is not a claim that an animal character feels.
- Status: Conceptual
Fantasy & Storytelling Characters
Characters that keep a recognizable voice and remember where a story has been, so an unfolding tale stays continuous.
For example
- Dragons, sprites, and other creatures of lore
- Narrators and quest-givers
- Characters who remember a story’s progress
With care: Each character stays true to its world’s lore and its creator’s rules.
- Status: Conceptual
Shopkeepers & Service Characters
Helpful characters that know their shop or venue, stay on task, and remember appropriate preferences of returning visitors.
For example
- Shopkeepers and hosts
- Concierges and help desks
- Event and venue greeters
With care: Only appropriate information is remembered, under the owner’s control.
- Status: Conceptual
Learning & Educational Experiences
Characters that make exploration and practice more engaging by remembering what a learner has already covered.
For example
- Guides for virtual museums and galleries
- Conversation-practice partners
- Characters set in historical or scientific settings
With care: Content would need review by educators; characters support learning, not replace teachers.
- Status: Planned
Virtual Worlds Beyond Second Life
Adapters that let the same character foundation work in other interactive environments, beyond Second Life where the pilot lives today.
For example
- Other virtual worlds and social spaces
- Games and interactive environments
- Interactive storytelling experiences
With care: Each platform’s terms, rules, and content policies would be respected.

The Same Safeguards Everywhere
Every application would inherit the permissions, privacy controls, disclosure, and character-specific safeguards described for Wish Intelligence™. Characters can express emotion as part of their personality; that is designed expression, not consciousness or feeling.
OneiraMind™ and Wish Intelligence™ were originated independently by Mizzy Rivera. Statuses reflect current development and may change; nothing on this page is a release date or a commitment.
